According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 6:26 a.m. on US Highway 61 near Bear Cave Lane. The incident involved multiple vehicles and unfolded during hazardous winter conditions. Icy roads were later identified as a contributing factor, turning an ordinary morning commute into a scene of heartbreaking loss.
Kristen was a passenger traveling southbound when the vehicle she occupied lost control while navigating a curve and collided with an oncoming truck. In the moments that followed, emergency responders arrived swiftly, but despite their efforts, Kristen was pronounced dead at the scene.
